What is Beavers?

Beavers is a section of the scouting movement for children of any gender aged 6-8. Children learn new skills and work towards earning badges. We meet from 5pm-6pm on Wednesdays during term time in Haven Christian Centre.

We may go on optional overnight camps (as beavers, or with the cubs +/- scouts) this is likely to be indoor camps at beavers age, progressing to camping in tents in cubs and scouts.

The beavers are split into 3 teams called Lodges, with a Lodge leader. These are indicated by the colour woggle (plastic tube) on their necker, and are called Ash, Oak and Maple.

We expect beavers to attend every meeting unless unwell or unavoidable activity clashes - missing meetings means they miss badgework, and it can be very difficult to catch this up for everyone!

Please let us know at 173HeathertonBeavers@gmail.com if your child will not be there for a meeting.

The children earn points for good behaviour and achievements, and lose points for bad behaviour, forgetting uniform or equipment, being late, or being absent without letting us know. The lodge at the end of the term with the most points wins an edible prize.
